'Fisticuffs at Dawn' by Lindsay Reid

Lindsay has a talent for capturing light on fur and feathers and this piece is no exception. Each brushstrokes lovingly applied brings to life these boxing hares. Lindsay has expertly captured the movement of the piece. The perception of distance is created through the grass below appearing in sharp relief in the foreground with painterly brushstrokes, appearing to lose focus in the backgound. The grey dawn sky gives the eye somewhere to rest making the hares even more prominent. Truly a masterly piece.
