Susan Birth

As a painter and mixed media artist working with acrylic, ink and collage in her own distinctive style, Susan depicts aspects of our world that intrigue her. It’s this intrigue that informs her art and she is driven to convey it, hoping to evoke in the viewer a positive thought, memory, mood or emotion.

Subject matter ranges from expressive imagined scenes, often incorporating poetry, through to local cityscapes, landscapes and floral pieces, finding the beauty in each portrayal. Susan's artwork has been described as escapist!

Having worked as a professional artist for many years, Susan feels content, connected and complete in this role. She is one of the resident artists at Bevere Gallery on the edge of Worcester and her studio.

Susan has exhibited widely, both locally and further afield including artwork selected by the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours at Mall Galleries in London, Broadway Arts Festival and Bath Art Fair.

She is proud of the fact that her art has helped raise funds for important charities and contributed to well-being. Printed images of Susan’s paintings of local scenes are on display in several NHS facilities across Herefordshire and Worcestershire. In 2024 she painted a penguin for Waddle of Worcester auctioned to raise funds for St Richard’s Hospice.
